Our Aim and Objectives
The aims and objectives of our Sabha are as follows:
- To propagate, promote and inculcate Hinduism in the State of New South Wales, Australia.
- To facilitate the observance and celebrations of all Hindu festivals through worship, songs, meditation, dances, movies, stage drama and musical concerts encouraging member part participation.
- To promote the common interest, cultural, social and educational welfare of Hindus living in the State of New South Wales, Australia by being the social and educational centre of Sanatan Dharma.
- To engage in charitable work to help the poor and the disadvantaged and in this regard to work with the community and the New South Wales Government to identify charities.
- To work in particular with the Heart Foundation, Diabetes Australia and other similar organisations to advance the betterment of the wider community.
- To relieve loneliness and isolation of the aged or to improve their mobility and fitness by establishing, operating and maintaining a senior citizens’ club to be known as “Golden senior citizens club” to provide recreation, education, cultural activities and other programs for senior citizens.
- To design and promote Suicide Prevention Program, conducting workshops, counselling and community outreach programs to educate the community about suicide warnings, risk factors and how to respond to someone in crisis.
- The establishment and operation of Hindi school to be known as “Ram Krishna Hindi School” for the purposes of teaching Hindi and Sanskrit languages, dancing, singing and the allied arts.
- To improve the facility for the sick, elderly, children and people with special needs and encourage tolerance and understanding and support victims of Domestic violence in our community.
- To ensure the teaching and activities of the Sabha are explained to children in a language they understand including Fiji Hindi and English and to create and develop youth programs.
